Nancy Straightabout this book: Meeting Destiny was a story inspired by my own life. The concept that certain people are supposed to be in our lives; if we meet them at the wrong time in our life, they keep reappearing until it is the right time. My husband and I first met in Virginia in 1991, we saw each other in Hawaii in 1993, in Orange County California in 1994, and San Diego in 1995. Each one of these was a chance encounter - none were planned and we had never kept in touch. We went on our first date in 1996 and have been together ever since.
When I wrote the Destiny Series my goal was to develop a set of characters who even though their first meeting wasn't the right one, they knew there was something special. The series is written with the premise of soul-mates and multiple lifetimes (not something from my own life, but a fun twist). My husband and didn't have a pesky demon chasing us either, so Meeting Destiny is definitely a work of fiction!
The hardest part of writing Meeting Destiny came from my inexperience as a writer, it was the first novel I had ever written. Initially when I wrote the book, it was to cross off something on my bucket list, I didn't have aspirations of publishing it, I really just wanted to know if I could write a book. When it was complete, I was so addicted to writing that I didn't have a choice but to share it with the world.
I hope you love it.
