J.J. DiBenedettoabout this book: "Dream Doctor" is the second novel in the Dreams series, following Sara Barnes, or Sara Alderson now that she's married, as she enters medical school and at the same time her dreams start up again.
Life as a newlywed in two tiny rooms in campus housing is a challenge, and the grueling first month of medical school would be tough for anyone. But Sara's got much bigger problems: she's seeing a whole host of dreams, from several different people, and they've all about the same thing - killing Dr. Abraham Morris, the most unpopular teacher at the school.
In addition to adapting to married life and struggling through endless hours of class, Sara's got to play detective again and figure out who's actually trying to kill Dr. Morris, before they manage to succeed at it.
The thing that I think makes this book different from a lot of other books in the genre is the way it focuses equally on the "mundane" aspects of Sara's life - her daily struggles in class, her first day of dissection, and the pressures that the workload is putting on her and her friends. I tihnk it's a more honest and more relatable story, that readers will really enjoy and be able to identify with.
