Anastacia Kelleyabout this book: This paranormal romance starts off in the 18th century where a homeless man, Van Pirone, contemplates death. Little did Van know, he was meant for immortality when a mysterious hero saves him from certain death.
Along his eternal journey, Van learns of a rogue vampire out to destroy Saldivar and anyone who gets in his way; the threat of the OVI/Organization of Vampire Investigations and keeping their 21st century mates protected from these threats. They just need to see that they don't perish in the process. It's an all out eternal war of blood and malice between the rogue, the OVI and the vampires trying to live a peaceful existence.
I was inspired to write this book for the simple fact: I love vampires and I wanted to write a novel about them. People who read this need to be adults because of the sexual situations and mature content. If you love vampires, this is a book for you. It took me a total of 6 months of writing. (I'm not including the large chunk of time taken out for surgery and recovery). The way I come up with any title is I just let words flow through my head and when I feel a passion for that certain name, I'll keep it.
I chose this cover because of the sexy mystery it exudes.
The hardest part of the book was the love scenes. I wanted a lot of passion but I wanted people to be able to feel their chemistry.
The only research I did was watch the History Channel's documentary on Vampires and France throughout history. I researched the Louvre Museum for sculptures as well. I stay away from any fictional books, t.v. shows and movies. I didn't want to have any influence other than the stories presented as a documentary.
What I learned from writing such a large book was more patience. I deleted 5 pages of my work. It was well written but it didn't fit. It was hard to erase it but, in the end, it would've slowed the pace. I wanted to see the ending but then again, I didn't want to leave my characters, hence the sequel to this book.
To the readers: I hope you are as passionate about my characters as I was. I love writing and want my passion to show through my work. I would never put out a book that I didn't believe 110% in. Writing is all I ever wanted to do. Nothing else compares.
