Book: The Importance of Being Purdence by Elizabeth Anne Porter

Elizabeth Anne Porterabout this book: I started this series about six years ago. It began as a way to satisfy the characters in my head. I decided to publish at the insistence of friends.
This is a story about a self-centered girl pulled into a world about which she knows nothing. She learns quickly she is very special but her self-centeredness will get her into trouble. Empathizing with Prudence is easy (and you will cry for her at times) but, at the same time, funny (there's a little of Prudence in all of us). Whirl-wind romance, lies, deceit, and heart-breaking friendships all work together to whisk you away for a trip into another world where no one is guaranteed to get out alive.
The title is a play on words with "prudence" (the virtue), and the famous "The importance of being Ernest" (if you are not familiar with that one, you should check it out).
The cover is actually the second version. If you search around long enough, you'll find a few sites with the old "orange" cover. Ok, we all make mistakes. The new cover is fantastic! Its beautifully dark and better represents the story.
It is an entertaining, light read, good for a weekend getaway or great for snuggling up to when the weather keeps you indoors.
