James, Jr. Garciaabout this book: For my debut novel I set out to write the Thriller that I found floating around inside my head. Very early in that process, a vampire character stepped out of the shadows to greet the two police officers that I had speaking to one another in an early scene, and it surprised even me. When I realized that what I had on my hands was a vampire horror novel, I knew I had to do something completely different than what was out in the marketplace. "We need another vampire novel like a hole in the head," were my exact words. That's when I decided to crossover the best of edge of your seat horror with the Christian themes of good conquering evil. My aim was not to preach or to hit anyone over the head with church or religion, and I hope readers will find that I've done a good job of balancing those two camps with my Dance on Fire vampire series.
