Annette R. Schober

Author Annette R. Schoberabout this book: Leo was stuck in a rut as are many people these days are. He was a party animal who was driven to succeed. Getting lost on the res while on a drunk was not really in his plan. Meeting a "crazy" Indian was also not in the plan. His normal "life" was falling apart around him His marriage was on the rocks, while the business, a sporting goods store, was marginally succeeding but just not cutting it as life's satisfaction. There had to be more to life but Leo did not at first even realize he was on a quest. Joe, in his quiet and unassuming way guided Leo to some startling realizations that there is more in the less of living that Leo finally came to believe in.

"Joe Long Road" is a story of the quest in all of us even though we sometimes do not realize that we are even on this journey.

Annette R. Schober lives in the mountains of central Arizona. Her mother was French-Canadian Indian, and this background has given her a deep reverence for the Earth and nature. She has been writing poetry and short stories since childhood and has has had her poetry published in many anthologies. Schober has also been awarded a fellowship from The Arizona Commission on the Arts for her poetry. She lives with husband, Al and many dogs. She loves to roam the hills hiking with her dogs and feeling the spirit of the Earth which she weaves into her poetry, short stories and now her novel Joe Long Road. She is also the author of The Book of One Tree, a book of short stories about the mother, father and siblings of the family of One Tree.
