L.C. Wrightabout this book: Castle Grey is a mystery/suspense novel that addresses the question, 'Does the soul really exist?' During the late 1800's a killer wanted/needed to know the answer. During his quest for knowledge, many lives were taken and answers were never found.
More than a hundred years later, his great-grandson discovers what his ancestor tried to accomplish and picked up the mantle. Castle Grey swallowed many lives in the past and once again looked for answers.
Katherine Katt is a beautiful FBI agent with a tragic past. As a child, her parents were shot to death during the course of a home invasion. Katt was required to watch. She was also required to pull the trigger.
Mickey (Mouse) James, a Sacramento PD detective, has problems of his own. The Mexican Mafia want him dead and will do anything necessary to make it happen. As a way to keep James alive, he is sent to Monterey, CA to keep his head down and his nose clean long enough to stop the threat.
The two are polar opposites and need to work through their differences if they want to stay alive.
The concept of the story came to me several years ago. While in the military as a nurse, I watched a patient die while lying on a full-body scale. After death, the patient's weight dropped a measurable amount and made me wonder, was that the soul that just left?
