H.M. Prévostabout this book: Desert Fire was inspired by years of living in the United Arab Emirates. It provided the perfect location for a thriller: exotic desert landscapes, a seldom written about world of wealth and intrigue. "I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an action-packed read" says one reviewer. "The hi-tech gadgetry and explosive action are sure to make readers keep turning those pages" says another.
The story centers around Nick Chevalier, who has come to the UAE with his mother and sister. After running to the scene of a plane crash, Nick stumbles across classified military secrets that make him the target of a terrorist. Determined to solve the mystery of the downed plane, Nick unwittingly endangers the lives of his mother and sister. He is recruited by an espionage agency and must use his wits and ingenuity to save them--and himself--from the clutches of a terrorist who wants him dead.
Researching the technical gadgets for the novel was great fun! The gadgets are all based on technical innovations being developed by DARPA.
