Kasey Rileyabout this book: Picture yourself out riding through the woods on your favorite horse. He starts to slip as you go along the edge to a gully and as he slides down the embankment, you jump off, landing in the dirt only to come eyeball to eye socket with a human skull. So starts this book. Friends out marking a new trail find a long buried, mostly mummified corpse which nature has unburied.
The FBI get involved because the corpse was found on National Forest land. Add a forensic pathologist with Native American ancestry, a nurse escaping her past, someone who wants the mystery to stay a mystery and you have layers of suspense and unknowns.
Riverview becomes the center of the investigation until the FBI are satisfied with the answers. But, is that the end of the story? Who shot at Kam and David, keeping them pinned down in the abandoned cabin until the blizzard cocooned them there? Who blew up their computers at the motel? Why is an eighty year old crime so important to anyone today? Surely those involved have long since been buried.
