Phyllis Smallmanabout this book: Margarita Nights is the first book in the Sherri Travis mystery series. It was short listed for the Debut Dagger in the United Kingdom and won an Ellis award from the Crime Writers of Canada and picked by Good Morning America for a summer read.
Sherri Travis grew up in a trailer park on the edge of a swamp down where not even the police felt safe. Now she works in a beach bar in Jacaranda, Florida, a place that is the closest thing to home that she knows. Pouring drinks, while listening to lies and confessions, she has a pretty jaded view of mankind and romance. Sherri figures moonlight and roses just hide muggers and thorns and tells everyone who will listen that Cinderella is dead and the prince is gay. But when Jimmy, her almost ex, is murdered and Sherri becomes the chief suspect her friends in low places come to her rescue. And along the way she finds more than one prince who isn't gay.
