L.E. Fraser about this book: If you enjoy crawling into the minds of psychologically challenged characters, this is the book for you. Rather than "who-did-it" it's "why-they-did-it". This unorthodox mystery-thriller has twists that keep readers glued to the pages. 5* reviewer states: "Page after page of excellent writing, capturing the essence of very disturbing minds."
Two years after her disappearance, the wealthy Reid family hires PI Samantha McNamara to find their missing teenage daughter. When Sam's investigation leads to a foreboding cult, she realizes that someone in the family is willing to do anything to protect a dark secret. As the Reids' sinister tapestry unravels, Sam struggles to expose the truth and survive.
The characters have no resemblance to my family, all of whom are lovely. However, the pain people inflict on others because of selfishness and fear intrigues me. By illustrating the lengths people go to avoid owning their mistakes, this thought-provoking tale depicts the subtle decay of the human condition. Although the only spot of violence is in the prologue, I warn you that the theme of the story is unsettling. After all, perdition means hell. If you decide to read the book, I thank you and hope you'll let me know what you think. Sam McNamara and Reece Hash continue to share their adventures in the series, Perdition Games. Each book features a new plotline but popular characters return. I do hope you enjoy.
