Chrissy Tetleyabout this book: This book is an educational story for children about music, and has been written for children, parents and music educators.
Having been involved in music all my life, I was inspired to write this story, because honestly, in my opinion, we do not have anywhere enough fun, illustrated books that teach children about the joys of music, while enriching their lives through the understanding of music.
The Surround Sounds of Music is our first book in the series, 'The Musical Adventures of Professor Anacrusis'.
The characters are three little Australian bush animals with holiday homework on the theme: 'What is Music? Is it more than just a noise.'
To begin with the animals decide that they know nothing about music and don't think they like music anyway. However when they meet Riff and Keyboard Cat who introduce them to Professor Anacrusis in the Music Shed, they soon discover that learning about music and musical instruments is a fun and exciting adventure. They are encouraged to listen to the sounds of nature all around and compare them to the sounds of actual musical instruments.
