Jonathan M. Nielson about this book: The second book of a planned trilogy, Confluence returns readers to Erin Kelly's quest to discover who murdered her parents in 1963. Now twenty-five years later the person or persons behind their tragic and mysterious deaths remains a mystery...except she knows the woman she knows only as 'Janice', once her father's jilted lover, all but implicated herself before disappearing at her book signing for her novel Convergence. The book, a cathartic narrative of tantalizing clues, her research and speculation, has attracted the attention of someone far more dangerous than Janice and he is coming for her ...
This was immensely fun to write and its setting in the Caymans, Curacao and the Newfoundland Mountains of Utah, offers readers a richly contrasting landscape of people, places and harrowing adventure. Readers will reacquaint with old characters and meet new ones in this multi-layered mystery, heavily spiced with history and local color. Before it reaches its conclusion, Confluence reminds us that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary feats of courage, sacrifice and perseverance in the face of great evil and power, even conflicted as they may be by their own agendas, fears and the failings of human nature.
Finally Confluence continues my deep interest in the discoveries of ancient Indian artifacts by Jack Sutton, Erin's Grandfather, who unwittingly sets in motion dark forces buried deeply in the ancient past that threatens their lives...and sanity.
