Gail M Baugnietabout this book: Everyone has heard this: If you remember Woodstock you weren't there.
That is how I felt about my life because I was so busy living it, I didn't experience or remember so much! One day I decided to research old events and then write mysteries set during those times. My first novel, FOR EVERY ACTION, is a murder mystery set in Chicago's Loop where I worked in 1968.
My protagonist's heritage is multi-national as a by-product of my current years living in Hawaii. I patterned her backstory on Michael Connelly's protagonist Harry Bosch's backstory of Vietnam involvement, and did extensive research on Army Nurses who served in Vietnam..
My research for this novel included a trip to Chicago's Loop to revisit many of the locations/buildings included in the story. I had so much fun researching the story, it is surprising I found time to actually complete the writing, editing, formating and publishing process!
Insurance Investigator Pepper Bibeau is out of the army and into a job less stressful than the 12-hour shifts she experienced during her tour of duty in Vietnam. What she didn't expect was that one of her insurance cases would become entangled in a murder, possible suicide, and the coma of a child. Is heroin the common thread that could get Pepper killed?
