Book: The Little Mornings by C.M. Albrecht
|4 stars, 1 review on Amazon|
C.M. Albrechtabout this book: The Little Mornings follows Darcy Lemarsh, young loser who thinks he sees an opportunity to improve his life and leaps in bringing his mentally unstable girlfriend along. Together they only make life worse for themselves as well as for others as his initial ambitious ideas turn into dark and devious methods to gain his ends. The Little Mornings is a noir tragedy, perhaps reminiscent of books like Double Indemnity, et al.
The title comes from Las Mañanitas, the Mexican folk song, which seems very closely to reflect the downward spiral of Darcy's life.
This novel lay festering inside me for many years before I actually sat down and began. Once started, I couldn't stop and it all went very quickly.
My publisher, Cambridge Books (http://writewordsinc.com) has done a great job in developing the book's new cover and I'm very pleased with it.
The Little Mornings is available through most Internet sites as either a print or as an e-book.
Most of my novels are mysteries and/or detective tales, but together with its companion noir novel, Marta's Place, which follows another loser down another path, they make up their own little genre.
I hope than after reading The Little Mornings, the reader will take away the hope that a person can improve one's station, but to do so properly and prosper, a person must not allow greed and ruthlessness to slip in to guide one's ambition.
