Book: Twisted Key (The Big Bend) by Gary Showaltercategories: Book, Adventure, Sunken Treasure, Light Romance, Florida, Murder Mystery
Gary Showalterabout this book: "Twisted Key" is my third novel and it is set along the east coast of Florida (all of my novels to date take place in Florida). It is a tale of greed, love and friendship. And sunken treasure. At the beginning of the tale one of Terry Rankin's (Terry is my main character - he runs a personal protection company in Orlando) learns that his new client has been nearly killed and her daughter kidnapped.
His new client is a Muslim woman, divorced from her husband and living under a sentence of death for the outspoken view on the treatment of women in Islam. Her daughter is another story entirely, since she had never mentioned she had a daughter and certainly did not tell anyone the young woman was in the country.
Which is when the lying begins. And the bodies begin to pile up. Because someone wants his client dead. And the killers want Terry to turn his client's daughter over to them or more people will die. But Terry can't do that. He doesn't have the daughter and has no idea where she is. Nobody does.
And nobody seems to be quite sure why the girl is so important to them. At least, they're not telling Terry.
But he's used to that; his clients lie to him all the time.
