Danny Kempabout this book: Allow me to introduce myself to you. I am sixty-three, and amongst many other things, was once a London Police Officer who was arrested for attempted murder. My novel, The Desolate Garden, was published in March this year.
It has been likened by reviewers, and the film producer, to The 39 Steps and The Constant Gardener.
Filming starts next year in the United Arab Emirates and on location in London.
Only months before the murder of Lord Elliot Paterson and his youngest son Edward, an address in Leningrad is discovered hidden in the ledgers of the Families Private Bank in Westminster, dating back to the 1930's. --- There is a spy in the Family, but on whose side? Elliot's eldest son, Harry, is recruited into the British Intelligence Service to uncover the traitor. The Desolate Garden is a twisting tale of deceit and intrigue spanning decades when the truth was best not told! Lord Harry Paterson, Earl of Harrogate is 'introduced' to an attractive woman, Judith Meadows, from the Foreign Office and together, desperately, try to unravel the intricate web before the killer strikes again. ?
The rights to the novel have been sold to a London Film Production Company and a 'set' is being constructed in The Arab United Emirates.
It is available on forty internet sites worldwide, and in major bookshops in the United Kingdom, including Waterstones, for whom I have now finished my sixteen week signing tour.
It is more than a murder mystery, having characters superbly detailed and intricately interwoven by compelling dialogue.
