Edward Pettyabout this book: Justice for Caleb involves two friends who share everything, and one man's mission to find his friend's killer or killers. Adam Trask works diligently to find out who murdered his friend. He struggles not only with Caleb Conroy's death, but with his own sexuality.
I wrote this short story after reading about so many gay teenagers and young adults who either committed suicide or were murdered for loving someone of their same gender. The story's about learning to forgive when hating seems like the ultimate choice. It's written hoping to foster tolerance for all people, regardless of who they might love. Let acceptance win out over judgement.
This short story took me awhile to write because of its personal nature. I saw myself not only as an author but as a participant in the story. I could someday be judged for my actions, dress or mannerisms.
I sincerely hope that all who might read this short story realize that people who're different and not only gay aren't abominations. We're all human beings, and we all deserve to be loved.
