Book: The Mystery at Belle Magnolia (Madeline Donovan Mystery Series Book 3) by Madison Kentcategories: Book, Female Sleuth, Historical Mystery, New Orleans, Voodoo, Female Detective, Murder Mystery
Madison Kentabout this book: New Orleans, what a fascinating place. Since I was a child, I became captivated with the rich history of this city and its diverse cultures.
When I eventually visited there, it did not disappoint. Voodoo, séances, and witches, were all part of the eclectic atmosphere. It was not uncommon to see witches, dressed in their long, black gowns muttering spells. Southern plantations dotted the scenic landscape and had me in awe of their beauty.
It is here that Madeline Donovan, her father, and her friends, Jonathan Franks and Hugh Scott, will find themselves after receiving an urgent request for help from a friend of her fathers.
Since Madeline has taken on the role of amateur sleuth in London, in the summer of 1888, she has found herself immersed in mysteries. When Belle Mayfair, the owner of Belle Magnolia, pleaded for her father's assistance, after her local friends had abandoned her, Madeline was happy to accompany her father to come to the aid of Belle.
Almost immediately after their arrival, tragedy strikes and Madeline sets about trying to find out who the perpetrator is, but first she feels she must find out who killed Armand LaLande.
