Olivia Gainesabout this book: I heard a woman on a talk show talking about her adversarial relationship with her mother. I was thinking, there had to be more to why the mother hated her so much and treat her so poorly. Since the caller offered no viable answer, I made my own.
As a child I had the pleasure of visiting Verbena Alabama and remembered there wasn't much there, everyone knew everyone, and it was such a close community. I chose there as the setting of the story, and let my fingers and imagination fly across the page.
I initially was writing this for a Mother's Day release, but I just thought it was a good story.
I write good stories about people. I write stories about relationships. I write stories that are relatable on how we connect, communicate and love each other.
I am a writer of literary fiction. Sometimes, in the interim, I write some hot and spicy stuff.
