about this book: I served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970 at Fort Holabird, Maryland and in South Korea. The best part of that experience was the good people I got to know. This book is one of thirteen stories in my Kindle series "A Short Story for the Good Guys in the Army." The stories have many of the same characters and themes. They take place at Fort Holabird, Maryland; Fort Dix, New Jersey; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Ypsilanti, Michigan; South Korea; and South Vietnam.

This short story takes place in the late 1960s. Four soldiers, who are good friends, go to an interesting neighborhood in Baltimore City, called Fells Point. All four have served in combat in either South Vietnam or South Korea. They were then assigned to Fort Holabird in Baltimore County. When they can, they like to change out of their uniforms into civilian clothes and get away from the fort for a while. They eat and have drinks at a pub. Instead of complaining about the Army, they decide to entertain each other with outrageous stories.
