That's why I wrote this book, because changing your diet can help. For menstruation to proceed effectively, the body has to produce specific hormones, at certain times. To do so, it needs the right nutrients. If your diet is lacking, or if you don't absorb vitamins and minerals well, you're probably deficient in the hormone–supporting nutrients and your menstrual cycle will be problematic.
Change your diet and lifestyle and you'll reap the benefits. Imagine not dreading your period any more. Picture the effect on your relationships when you don't fly off the handle at the slightest thing. And it won't just be your periods that improve. If your diet is poor, it's likely you're suffering other issues besides problem periods – dry skin, perhaps, irritable bowel syndrome, energy slumps…so any improvements you make to benefit your periods may affect you in other ways.
Why am I qualified to present this book to you? Well, I trained as a nutritional therapist with the renowned Institute For Optimum Nutrition in London, studying with them for three years. After I passed my final exams, I set up my own nutritional therapy practice. Since then, life has taken me down a different path and I no longer practise as a nutritional therapist; however, I wrote my series of nutrition e-books whilst still running my clinic, so you can be sure that they are by a qualified professional.
