DK Kingabout this book: What do you call it when a California city girl suddenly finds herself with a new husband and a new life in rural Whitefish, Montana? "Culture shocked!" might be your first response, yet "Living The Big Sky Life" is what I ultimately came to call it.
Very little detail has been spared as I recount what it took for me to adjust to small town life in the Wild West - the challenges, the successes and the failures. And never fear, my story has been told with the dry wit and dark humor I am notorious for.
To write this book has been admittedly cathartic on a personal level, but my motivations in sharing it are perhaps a bit more altruistic – a way to pay it forward, you might say. No matter how special I believe myself to be to me during this part of my journey, I have few illusions about my ordinary place in this world. If my shared experience can illuminate a path that helps even one struggling soul find hope or a way through the darkness, I have accomplished something extraordinary.
