J.T. Gilhoolabout this book: Jennifer was an executive on the rise at one of America's oldest companies. They sent her and her family to China to grow the business. While Jennifer was busy increasing the shareholder value for the company stockholders, the shareholders sitting at the dinner table were wondering what happened to mom.
It started out as the adventure of a lifetime but ended up being the lesson of a lifetime. This is my story. The story of dragging three children, a husband and a dog half way around the world so I could climb the corporate ladder. I sound like a real peach, don't I. Yeah, that's exactly what the Salt Mine said -- I should be more charming. But, I am getting ahead of myself.
This book is my soul. Over those 2 years, I was alone in my head with no one to talk to about the difficulty I was having trying to "balance" my desire to lead and achieve with my desire to be a good wife and mother. My best girl friends were thousands of miles away and sleeping when I was awake. I tried to work things out on paper and as I shared my thoughts with family and then close friends I discovered that I wasn't alone in my head. They told me to share my story. This is my version of "brave".
