Doreen M. McGettiganabout this book: They say everyone has a story and this is mine. When my youngest brother, musician David Albert was murdered in a random road rage attack my life stopped. When the fight for justice was infected by politicians and a lousy judge, I had no choice but to push back. When that did not work I wrote this book.
• What inspired you to write this book?
It started out being a release for my anger and ended up being a precious tribute to a gentle giant with a great musical talent.
• How did you come up with the title?
The title came to me in a dream.
• What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part of writing the book was of course reliving the horror. It was also difficult to research and find information that was just painful to read, comments I had not heard before and excluded evidence. I struggled with whether I should use real names or not and decided if I was going to tell a true story, it had to be real. Many people are not happy with that decision. I stand by it.
• What do you want to say to your readers?
The comments about the book that have meant the most to me are "I could not stop reading until I finished every word." and "I felt like you were a friend telling me a story."
