Julie Watsonabout this book: 'Born for Life: A Midwife's Story tells my story of fulfilling a dream to become a midwife. It tells of the challenges that I faced in life, the biggest being the death of my second baby at birth. I went through depression, suicidal thoughts and despair before becoming a Christian and having some hope in my life. I went on and trained as a nurse, then a midwife starting at the age of 37 years. My book goes through the ups and downs of life but in the end my dreams have come true. My story is an inspirational story and I hope readers will be encouraged by it. I am sure all women who are interested in birth and life that will be encouraged by my book. Life can be hard but with perseverance, hope, faith and never giving up you can make it. It took me three years to write and the title came when I was sitting in a cafe having a coffee when the word 'Born' came to me and I tossed it around and came up with 'Born for Life.' I felt no matter what happens, life is for living and even though I had been through a lot, I still embraced life.
From a reader: A well written book. An absorbing read. You will love this memoir. I couldn't put it down.
