Louis Kirbyabout this book: "Internationally recognized research neurologist releases new his thriller, Shadow of Eden, which jumps to #3 on Amazon's Medical Thriller's rank within 4 weeks of its release…"
[CUT!] OK, so what? I'm still a real guy with a passion for writing, a great family, a sense of humor and a depth of knowledge of drugs and neurology that was just begging to star in a thriller. Shadow of Eden is based on several "what if" questions I asked myself: What would be the most popular drug ever? (Think diets) What would be the most horrible, but very real, disease you could get as a side effect (Think incurable and brain eating) Who would the worst people to get the disease? (For starters, a 747 airline pilot in flight).
Now, let's stir the pot. We know president Reagan had Alzheimer's disease in the last years of his presidency. Who should have known that and what should have been done about it? Fortunately we were not in the middle of a crisis at the time otherwise we would have found out the hard way. So… I created a crisis. The Chinese military massacres thousands of peaceful demonstrators and the president is hot to punish China for their inhumane actions. To what lengths will he go?
Now at the center of all this is a doctor who is an ordinary Joe with a determined streak, who figures out the secret to his patient's illness and who suddenly finds himself on the run from a professional assassin.
There's lots, lots more with unexpected twists and turns, action from the first page, slick medical detective work, cold blooded murder, high stakes political brinksmanship, corporate skullduggery, behind the scenes White House intrigue, human and believable characters and, well, you'll just have to read Shadow of Eden for yourself, won't you?
