Jan Sikesabout this book: This is the grand finale, the climactic ending to the entire series of true stories about Luke Stone and Darlina Flowers.
Luke, a veteran Texas musician has cheated death more times than he can remember. Now, he's been handed an opportunity to have a second music career. He knows he won't be filling the Texas dance halls like he did in his younger days but is grateful to the Great Spirit for the chance. However, his aging body sabotages him at every turn in this story we see his and Darlina's steely determination and undying love come out in full force while they push through every obstacle that is thrown in their path. We travel with them into the recording studio and onto the stage, but will the time in Luke's hourglass allow him to finish what he's started?
I am often asked why I wrote these stories and if they are simply a tribute to my late husband. The answer is "no", I wrote the stories because they needed to be told. First of all, it is a story of undying love...the kind of love you read about in fiction, but isn't supposed to happen in real life. Secondly, this man and woman meet more challenges and overcome them than any two people should ever have to and they grow stronger from each. The stories are meant to be inspirational - to encourage and inspire others to reach for their dreams, no matter how impossible they seem.
