Sheri Kaye Hoff about this book: When I first approached writing Keys to Living Joyfully- my first book, I had been trying to write a book for 20 years. I would write, lose interest, then stop. I had several partially written manuscripts. Truthfully, writing a book was mostly on the back burner of my life, I was building my career and raising a large family. I finally, decided it was time to focus not only on writing my book, but also on developing my private coaching practice. I shifted from working full time in higher education to taking part time contracts. I thought I would write a leadership book based on my years of managing and mentoring and my Master's degree in Organizational Management. But I kept getting nudged and led to tell my story and to write a very spiritual book about my journey from finding my brother after his suicide death (he was 15 and I was 17) to being able to be happy again.
The book seemed to write itself and within about 5 weeks, I was done. Since I wrote this book, I have received feedback from people all over the world who have been touched by the principles in the book. The book isn't a memoir, I only devote the first chapter to the tragic event in my life, the rest of the book is about how to truly learn to be happy. There are exercises sprinkled throughout the book to help people make discoveries about their own lives.
One of the most interesting things is that when I have the opportunity to ask people what their favorite part of the book is... it is always different. The book truly becomes what each person needs at the time they are reading it. I have had so many people say this to me that I cannot doubt it... I have a very special love for this book like a person holds in her heart for her first love.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
