Alana Woodsabout this book: Write what you know; advice I've taken to heart.
The idea for IMBROGLIO snaked around my brain while I was working as a publications typist at the Weapons Research Establishment in South Australia years ago. It took a while but I finally wrote it.
Literary suspense is how I describe my fiction-—because I've been told it's quite a cut above the usual thriller material. That pleases me no end, as you can imagine.
As for the story, the adage 'Look before you leap' is one Noel Valentine, the female lead, should perhaps have paid mind to before involving herself in the shady world of assassins and espionage. She finds herself drowning in both the metaphorical and literal senses. She finds herself attacked by sharks of the fin and two-legged varieties. She finds that life is precious.
As for David Cameron, the male lead and quite possibly the assassin and snake in the grass around Noel's feet, 'Be careful what you wish for' is the lesson he needs to learn before he can make peace with all those he's upset along the way.
