Barnaby Hazen about this anthology: This is the first anthology of a periodical of stories based around convenience store phenomena. Have you ever visited a store late at night and had the feeling you were stepping into another dimension? Have you personally worked at a convenience store, and experienced things your felt worth retelling, whether as a humorous anecdote, or a near-miss dangerous situation? This is the heart of our muse.
The first volume features the works of four terrific independent authors. Stories range in subject and style from a failing tele-market salesman with a weakness for snacks ("Reasons," by Jason Peck), to a 7-Eleven clerk with a dislike of religious solicitations ("The Religious Advocate Formula," by Barnaby Hazen). As the first Volume was released on Halloween, there are also a few horror stories for the season.
Barnaby Hazen started a website in 2014 with his friend Coby--www.sevenelevenstories.com-- featuring monthly stories touching base in a convenience store in some manner, and this first collection is at large, the best of those published on the site in that first year. Now available on ebook, this is the beginning of the convenience store literary movement. Get your copy now, and look forward to volume 2 in April!
