Jack Coullabout this book: The Aussie Larrikins series is based on my childhood and my journey as an adult.
It is about a healthy, happy childhood, a typical Australian upbringing.
It was written about different parts of my life. Some of it was extremely difficult to write and I had to walk away whilst I was writing and give myself space to regroup my thoughts. Married to a Larrikin was the hardest of all books in the series to write. This book details an extremely difficult time of my life. Other parts just flowed.
I wrote these books during a time in my life that required much soul searching. A time that made me re-evaluate who I was and where I was going. I needed to focus on different things and decided to finish what I had actually started many years ago.
As the series went on, I was inspired by friends who had shared similar experiences and I realised I was not alone, that other people had been through similar experiences.
One of the most humbling aspects of writing these books is the feedback that I have received from other people, who, after reading the books, finally realised that they weren't the only person to go through these experiences.
Writing this series has been quite cathartic for me. I feel deeply honoured that people have been buying my books and that they are reading them and enjoying them.
