Book: Coming Out and Discovering the Rainbow by Daniel DuBour
|5 stars based on the 3 most helpful Amazon reviews|
Daniel Allen DuBourabout this book: Coming Out and Discovering the Rainbow is about a middle aged woman, never married, who discovers her true self with the help of a gay co-worker and his partner. The book was inspired by the recent laws concerning human rights including the right for sexual preference.
The story takes place in Buffalo New York. Linda, the main character lives in a HUD program apartment in Amherst, New York and works as librarian in the same town. She is befriended by a gay co-worker, John, who lives with his partner, Fred, in Buffalo.
They invite Linda to a dinner party and introduce her to a close friend, Norma, who lives in the same complex as them. Norma, a lesbian, is attracted to Linda from their first meeting. Linda however sees Norma as a possible friend, but doesn't realize that Norma is a lesbian and has designs for a future relationship with her.
Most of my books where inspired by dreams. The names of characters where entirely fictitious, however, some names came to me in dreams. Some research involved names of cities, locations, names of apartment complexes and distances from one point to a destination.
This book will benefit those who are unfamiliar with the gay and lesbian world and educate whoever does not agree with this particular life style. And possibly will offer more acceptance to the gay community.
