Mackenzie Stoneabout this book: Mandy Blackwood was born and raised in a strict Southern Baptist home in southern Arizona. It seemed everything was forbidden in this small and mostly fundamentalist town. However, homosexuality was considered the worst sin of all.
Set in the 1960's, Mandy marries Scott, the son of a Southern Baptist minister. They leave the southwest to settle in Kentucky. Mandy and Scott, unable to have children, adopt a baby boy and are seemingly happy.
However, unbeknownst to Mandy, Scott never wanted a baby. After months of isolation and emotional abuse, Mandy discovers what true love really feels like. Her new secret love revolves around Kathleen Crutchfield. Feeling new, deliciously different emotions, Mandy, struggles with the implications of what has happened.
Kathleen captures Mandy's heart and rules her body with a passion she has never known before. They know they must find a way to be together, but how will they get the courage to escape Mandy's marriage, their church, and Kathleen's powerful family?
Coming out stories are frequently predictable, but not this one. This bit of lesbian fiction is electrifying from start to finish.
