John C. Deakinsabout this book: Generally, the book is about love and sacrifice, family bonds, and good and evil. It explores, through Laser and Gabby (brother and sister) and their adventures in dimensional "levels" the universal components of those things, as well as touches on new science, scientific theory, religion, time and space, and the whole predicament of mortal existence as a thinking and feeling human being…particularly in an often unfathomable, abrupt, and quickly accelerating world.
I enjoyed the scientific research I did for this series, being more English minded than scientific minded I really delved into interesting resources to make sure I just wasn't making stuff up. Of course there's lots of cool fantasy intermixed with some real scientific truths. I did learn a lot and tried to incorporate it in my first e-book so it would peak the young reader's curiosity.
Why write a children's book? I am an avid reader…and I've been writing my entire life. A good story is one of the great joys of life…and a good children's book is the doorway for kids into fun, knowledge, and exciting worlds beyond imagination. I wanted to be part of that whole process.
