"What makes Christopher's book unique is the extraordinary positive sense he conveys in offering an alternative to despair in the face of a diagnosis of cancer...his leading us on a path to inner peace is a powerful piece of writing."--Grady Harp, Amazon Hall of Fame and Top 100 Reviewer

Hi. I was diagnosed with colon cancer following a routine colonoscopy in 2013 at age 81. To say I was shocked when I got a call from my doctor telling me about my diagnosis would be to put it mildly.

I had surgery on Dec 26 2013. It took me six months to fully recover, and since writing has been my passion since I was a child, I decided to write a book about my experience.

But I didn't want to just write another cancer memoir. I wanted to do my best to show how cancer--or indeed any major trauma--can be a "catalyst" that inspires us to grow and face our fears and become a better and stronger person. Even, dare I say, a happier person. Because I can truly say I am happier now at 84 than I have ever been in my life.

Whatever challenges you may be facing in your own life--or will face--I do wish you well. If I could sum up my experience in a sentence, it might go something like this: "In the presence of the Eternal there is no fear."
