A chance encounter gives Minerva purpose as she rescues a little dog from drowning. With the assistance of the little dog, she learns how to be in charge of her movements and actions. The benefit of pet therapy for hyperactivity, based on research, is portrayed in this story, which is written for ages 8-12, the ages when hyperactivity seems to be most prevalent. The author, Heather Nelson was hyperactive as a child and has raised hyperactive children. She knows first hand the benefits of pet therapy.
