Book Review: Birdbrain by Jim Yoakum

Author: Jim Yoakum
ODD and FUNNYI loved the novel BIRDBRAIN by Jim Yoakum. It starts off as a guy talking to a cop about a gold heist that goes wrong, then evolves (devolves?) into a tale about how he and a certain "Mr Baltimore" became involved with two Brits (one who huffs "Dust Off" and one who has sex with cars), a mammoth woman named Mad Rose and (get this) Bill Murray, to go steal the top secret Kentucky Fried Chicken recipe! It's a wild ride (complete with photos) that discusses everything from why the Flintstones vitamins didn't have a Betty, to the "secret life" of Col. Sanders and Elvis and answers why the chicken crossed the road. It's like Tom Robbins meets Vonnegut meets a blender. Totally off-beat and experimental.
