Ronald E. Hudkinsabout this book: This book follows a good group kids at play through a 1960's nostalgic and hilarious summer romp of misadventures'. They always manage getting caught doing things that never seem to end well. They are small town gossip and amusement. They are a parental nightmare. They are preteen typical nuisances of youth. Seems they cannot do anything without some kind of funny and unbelievable mishap.
The book Summer of Lost Soles by Ronald E. Hudkins most closely follows a youth named Ricky. It seems this particular kid has a somewhat known reputation for not being able to keep from destroying, losing or misplacing every pair of shoes that is actually laced upon his feet. Ricky has a devious scheming sister that lives to get him into trouble. His parents are at wits end to keep him in shoes. His friends aren't any help at all in helping Ricky preserve his footwear be it by their pranks or everyday antics where stuff ultimately happens. The boy's parents only request was for their son's promise to have at least one pair of shoes ready and able to be worn to school at the end of what they knew was going to be a long hot summer for preteens and parents alike!
