Book Review: Stinky Till I Die! by RP Cowiecategories: Book, Funny, Comical, Football, Humorous, Sport, Soccer, Novel, Fiction, Humor
RP Cowieabout this book: Stinky Till I Die follows three diehard supporters of the worst football team in the country, if not the universe, The Pleasant Valley Sewage Works FC. The threesome trek around the north of England in search of mediocrity, at least.
I wrote this novel, because it had been simmering inside me for a long time and when I turned 50 I realised, it's now or never. I began writing just after Christmas 2012, so it took me around four months to write. Once I got going the fourteen chapters just seemed to spill out of my imagination.
The reader does not have to be sports mad or even like soccer, although it would help if you had a wicked sense of humour. To my reading public I would say... don't expect Shakespeare or Chaucer, but do expect to laugh out loud!
Please note, contains profanity, sexual references and gratuitous violence, so therefore is probably not for minors or the clergy.
When all's said and done, I wrote this book to give other people enjoyment and not for fame and fortune, which is a good job really.
I appreciate all constructive criticism.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
From a female point of viewBeing a member of the female species, I wasn't sure I'd like a book about football. Actually, it isn't really about the sport, but more the three friends who follow their local team and create laughs everywhere they go. Made me laugh out loud and I loved it. [by Anne Dolman]
