Book: Writing for Children (Aber How to become an author) by Stephanie Baudetcategories: Book, Writing Books, Publication, Children, Step-by-Step Guide, Author, How To Write
Stephanie Baudetabout this book: The sub-title of this book is: 'A Step-by-Step Guide', and that's just what it is. I lead you through the process from developing an idea right through to submission and, hopefully, publication.
This is a book that I was always looking for.
I have read many books on the subject, some absolute gems, and others far too wordy and complex.
This book has no dense paragraphs of padding.
It ha lots of bullet points and lists.
Every word is important.
Sprinkled through the pages are some 'Story Sparks'. These are 'what ifs', 'story starters', and 'story premises'. Just a few words to provide instant ideas.
There is an extensive section on writing poetry for children, by well-known poet and speaker, Alison Chisholm.
Lot of books have been published on how to write, but my publisher had faith that I was providing something slightly different.
I hope this will help you to write the book you've always wanted to write, and will be the start of an enjoyable career.
