about this book: I love horses and I want to abolish abuse of horses. I wrote Spirit Rider because I learned about a tradition that honors the horse and honors the earth together. In Spirit Rider, the main character is Jayne who has a challenging horse. Jayne goes on a journey to find a way to help 'heal' her horse. She learns about animal communication, equine bodywork and then discovers an ancient tradition of Earth Wisdom. Jayne meets an elder medicine woman who helps her rebalance her life and in turn, her relationship with her horse.

I wrote this book using no bad language, violence or erotica, specifically because I know young girls love horses and love to read about horses.

Jayne's story also includes her relationship with her dogs, her barn cat and insights into what it takes to care for a horse in a respectful and loving manner. The cover image is an actual photo of my horse's eye, which several people have told me looks like a photo of an elderly Native American. It fits perfectly with the native flavor of the Earth Wisdom teachings Jayne discovers.

The book is also a great read, even if you don't have horses.
