Anna M. Larsonabout this book: The hardest part about writing this story was writing about Hobo's death. There is no easy way to put into words the pain and heart break of losing a beloved pet. Twenty-three years of my live was devoted to this horse who held my heart and then I had to make the decision to end his life in order to ease his pain and suffering. Trying to convey this pain both his and mine was the most difficult chapter to write.
I wrote this story because all my friends kept asking about how I got my horse. I couldn't explain without explaining about Hobo's part in choosing the horse who would replace him. The book was a way for me to get out the stories that were special to me.
The title "The Horse That Haunts Dreams" came about the fact Hobo has always been my "dream" horse. Even before he came to me, he was what I wanted. After he died, he stayed with me until I was ready to move on. He haunted my dreams for years.
