Edward Pettyabout this book: Jared's Little Playground is set in 1963, amid Maine's idyllic scenery. Billy Barker sits inside a jail's holding cell and recalls a time when he, his friends and his father and mother met maniacal lumberjack Jared Underwood. Maine's woods are Underwood's playground. Although Billy Barker's family and friends go into the woods to celebrate Billy's 13th birthday, almost no one comes out of them alive.
This novella's loosely inspired by Stephen King's novella that's entitled "The Body". "The Body" can be found inside King's collection that's entitled DIFFERENT SEASONS.
Although this novella can be read by old and young people, it's suitable for people who understand that there's graphic violence involved.
I inadvertently lost the novella's first draft. I thankfully rewrote it in a short amount of time.
The only research that I did for the novella was to research artists' names and song title correctness.
I hope that you all enjoy reading this novella as much as I enjoyed writing it.
