Angela Gascoigneabout this book: Planet Poultry, where dreams come true, was my second e book to be published. When I wrote this book I wanted to capture some of the essence of my hometown of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I wanted to touch on some dark issues which so many people have to deal with in their everyday lives such as: addiction, domestic violence and the deafening tick of the biological clock. However, Planet Poultry is by no means all doom and gloom. It also includes a healthy injection of love, laughter and family values.
Norman Barker's at the end of his tether with feeling isolated, ashamed and trapped in a capsule of fear, that is, until an unexpected windfall spells a new beginning for him. Norman is now free to embark on his quest for sweet revenge on the girlfriend who has subjected him to years of domestic abuse and humiliation.
No longer tied to their mundane jobs in a chicken processing factory in the North East of England, Norman and his fellow syndicate members have a whole new life to plan for. But is freedom from their financial worries enough to solve all their problems? Maybe for some of them that's the case, but for others, their new-found wealth creates it's own problems.
With realistic characters who could so easily be you own friends or neighbours, Planet Poultry teaches us some valuable lessons about love, friendship and the sweet satisfaction of revenge.
