Book Review: Hook and Peter by Doram Jacoby
|5 stars, 1 review|
Doram Jacobyabout this book: This book is a dark adaptation on the original story of 'Peter and Wendy' (Peter Pan) by J. M. Barrie.
It tells the story of Captain James Hook, a retired officer of the Metropolitan Police, who is called back to work on a case of the kidnapping of Wendy Darling and her two younger brothers.
What he finds leads him to a chase after his old enemy, the child trafficker, Peter Pan and his gang of lost boys.
The story will re-introduce you to all of the familiar places and characters in a way you never thought of before.
The story is set in London in 1905 and I have researched the period extensively in order to give the readers the right atmospheric feeling.
I hope that I have managed to do so and that you enjoy my book.
As a tribute to the author of the original I have decided to donate half of my profits to the unseen charity, to help them fight child trafficking around the world.

Really enjoyed it, very cleverly writtenI found it really enjoyable - the adaptation of the story is very clever, almost seems like this is more original than the original. The characters, the relationships, the places and the anecdotes are all there. However, in a completely different and surprising light.
Especially if you love London, mysteries and British culture, you will enjoy the humor, the writing and storytelling. I give it 5 out of 5. [by Jacob Nadav]
