Taryn Rayeabout this book: My debut novel, Castaway Hearts, released in April 2012 from Turquoise Morning Press is a historical romance with a tragic twist. When Catherine Barrett is left no choice but to come to live with her grandparents in colonial Virginia, she is lost and lonesome. Her journey across the sea on her grandfather's trade ship affords her with one strand of hope, of seeing her secret beloved, her Grandfather's new ship Captain, return from his first voyage so they can be married.
In the first days of her arrival Catherine tries and, at first fails, to make friends with her secret love's older brother Dawson and finds it hard to reconcile her attraction to the older, more handsome man. Given time, a friendship is sparked, and so much more. Just when Catherine is intent on confessing her feelings to Dawson, tragedy strikes at sea, leaving her full of guilt and sorrow and leaving Dawson uncertain of his place in her life and where he fits into it.
Can his love shift the tides and bring her back to him?
Mel from Girl's *Heart* Books gave it 4 Quills and said "With a fast moving plot, plenty of conflict and likable characters, this was an easy read for me. I really loved the love story."
I hope you'll enjoy it, too!
