Ginger Simpsonabout this book: My love for writing western historical novels came to life again when Hattie came to me with her story. Like I've mentioned before, my writing is character driven and the nice thing about being a "pantser" is listening to my heroine or hero lead me along is sort of like having someone tell me a story and I can't wait for the ending. Hattie, somehow decided to take a very different tact in this story, and it became a time-travel of sorts. What began as a traditional historical saga totally changed when she jumped into a river.
I admit that my stories are not nearly as long as those in mainstream because small press doesn't require you to meet word requirements. I'm so happy for that because when my stories conclude, they're finished and I don't have to go back and add redundant facts or insane information to meet the imposed word lengths some authors face. What's really strange is that I'm a wordy person in real life...love to talk, can't shut up, but my writing style is totally different. For me, it quality over quantity...or at least that's what I always aim for. Hattie ended up with two heroes in this story, and I hope I've temped you to check out adventure.
