Jill Hugheyabout this book: American common sense tangles with British nobility in Arizona Territory in the sweet historical romance Sass Meets Class.
Susan Mellott doesn't think much of Alexander Dorcester. He's too quiet and he worries too much about keeping his boots clean. Yet when he helps her protect her little sister and their wagon from a couple of curious Apaches, her opinion begins to change. He's only in Arizona Territory for a visit while Susan, her sister, and their pa are here to stay if Susan has anything to say about it. She sets up their new general store and mostly forgets about the tall, refined Englishman until he arrives to do some shopping with his snobby mother.
So begins an unexpected friendship that soon blossoms into something more, at least on Susan's side. Susan challenges Alexander's assumptions about his title and his responsibility to live his life only for the family name while he introduces her to poetry and Shakespeare. Alexander returns to England after a bitter argument, leaving Susan to nurse her broken heart. Then a mysterious letter arrives from Wyoming. Perhaps Alexander is not in England after all?
Time and distance and secrets cannot end a friendship that is meant to be love.
Sass Meets Class is a clean romance with no cussin' or hanky panky!
