Margaret Tannerabout this book: This book is a sequel to Falsely Accused. It is a stand alone novel, which tells the story of the children of the main characters from Falsely Accused. It was previously published as Stolen Birthright.
Can an English aristocrat go against society and marry the daughter of convicts?
I have always loved Australian and English history.
Georgina's parents were both convicts, exiled to the penal colony of Australia, but they were innocent pawns of a corrupt English justice system. The happenings of 20 years ago have cast a blight over her life, and it make the man she loves virtually unobtainable. She does not know that her life is in danger because of who her father was.
This is a well researched historical novel, depicting the harsh realities of life for poor farmers in the Australian frontier of the 1840's. It is a story of secrets and betrayal, triumph and survival against great odds.
It is a book of approximately 50,000 words, so it is a nice, quick read.
While helping Johnny Dawson escape from prison, Georgina meets and falls in love with a dashing English aristocrat, the Honourable Marcus Lindquist.
When the young outlaw is ambushed and killed, Marcus finally finds out what it is that binds Johnny and Georgina together.
Meanwhile, in England, Earl Darrington is plotting Georgina's death to keep his dark secrets from ever seeing the light of day. Will Marcus be able to save her?
